Designing and planning a nursery or toddler room is such an exciting time. With a blank slate, you can also have a lot of creativity with it. If you’ve decided on a jungle theme, you’ll know that there are so many ideas out there on how to decorate a nursery with a jungle theme and it can quickly become a bit overwhelming! From wall decor to bedding there is such an array of items to choose from. To make it simpler, we advise starting with one pivotal item (that you absolutely adore) and basing your room around this item. You can then accessorise the room from here.

Nursery Jungle Room Ideas | mood board

Throughout this mood board, we have kept to dark wood tones, greens, creams and rich gold accents. The hexagonal dark wood shelving featured is great for small plants or decor items and ties in well with the small wooden vases designed for dried flowers and the light with a wooden base. This light has to be a favourite in this room, it’s so simple but will bring warmth into the room. Gold accents will look amazing with the dark brown wood. You could bring this into the room through plant pots, jewellery holders and through the metallic of the mirror.

Mirrors are a great way to bring in light if positioned in particular ways as they can make the room feel bigger and brighter. We love these circle brass mirrors, they also show the idea of making the room brighter by positioning near a window so the light reflects further into the room.

If you are planning a jungle-themed room, a must is green. We have brought green in through bedding and plants. Featured is a copper bar that has been upcycled into a plant hanger. We love this idea and think this would look great above a chest of drawers or as a statement on the wall. If using the giraffe wall sticker, the plants would look great hanging near it so the green can complement the brown tone.

With everything that is going on in the room with the greens and browns, you want to balance this out with lighter creams and greys. Items that can bring in these simpler colours are rugs, blinds, storage trugs and lampshades.

We have done exactly that with our mood board. Our focal point was our watercolour jungle scene wall sticker. We have found lots of items that all fit well together and are based around this jungle wall sticker. Why not use this mood board to inspire your jungle theme.

Jungle colours can be bright and fun, but to balance this out we also recommend including some neutrals or muted tones too. Throughout this mood board, we have picked out the orange from the giraffe and featured this as the main accent colour. Accessories such as the bedding, bunting and a clock all continue this orange through the theme. This includes both bright and muted tones. To accompany the orange, we have of course included greens and yellows through the macrame mobile, rainbow and some small plants – classic jungle theme colours.

We think that our animal roller blind designed by Kali Stileman is the perfect addition to the watercolour pack and adds a little fun to the window space. Storage solutions are always a must in a nursery or toddler room, our trugs are perfect for toys, blankets and cushions and our cheetah design would work perfect in this room.

Lastly, to add some fun to the room, we searched out some animal-themed items too. Featured, is a giraffe bean bag, string lights and coat hooks.
