Over the past 12 months, we’ve been busy here at Stickerscape creating new our shape wall stickers collection. These designs have been a little different to our normal designs by using lots of smaller wall stickers to decorate an entire wall or area in your child’s room. This allows you to create lots of contemporary themes and we have lots of different colour options to coordinate perfectly with your room.

Because many of these designs are smaller and less complicated than our other designs, we recommend using a different method for applying your shape wall stickers. In addition, the majority of these designs consist of simple shapes and therefore we generally do not apply our normal application film to help apply your wall stickers.

To apply your shape wall stickers, therefore, follow these 3 simple steps:

Step 1: Prepare your wall

As with all our wall stickers, stickers should be applied by adults to smooth, clean, dry surfaces. Walls painted with normal matt emulsion work best, but windows, mirrors, furniture and doors will also work well – great for a coordinated look in your room! For freshly painted walls, please allow a 3 week drying period before applying your wall stickers and avoid applying stickers directly above radiators.

To prepare your wall, simply clean it with a lint-free cloth to ensure there is nothing that might affect the adhesion to the wall.

Step 2: Remove your stickers from the backing sheet

To start applying your wall stickers, simply peel them away from the backing sheet. Take care not to crease your stickers which may affect how they look on the wall. To ensure this, carefully lift up one corner of the graphic and slowly peel away from the backing paper.

We recommend retaining the backing sheet during application just in case you need to place your stickers back on to the sheet (it’s fine to place them back on the sheet and re-apply if required).

Step 3: Apply your sticker to the wall

Before applying your wall stickers, we recommend thinking about how your intending to arrange your wall stickers. Take a look at our shape wall stickers page to see a number of different examples of what might work for your room.

After deciding the best position, simply place the wall sticker on to the wall in the desired location. After placing it, you can then use your hand or a plastic card to press firmly down on the wall sticker to secure it in position.

For larger stickers, you may find it easiest to first stick down the left-hand side of the sticker, then smooth across the sticker to the right, pressing down with your hand as you go to prevent air bubbles.

Step 4: Removing your wall stickers

All our wall stickers are cleanly removable from matt painted wall (assuming the underlying paintwork is in good condition). Once you want a change, simply peel off slowly and carefully. If removal proves at all tricky, it may help to use a hairdryer to gently warm up the sticker first. This allows the adhesive to soften, making removal easier.

And that’s it! Some simple steps to follow to apply your shape wall stickers and instantly makeover your child’s bedroom, playroom or nursery. We love to see our customer’s creations so if you’re happy to share please tag us in your social media posts (links to our pages can be found below).
